20 May Covid-19
2020 was a year filled with changes and challenges which are sure to impact our lives for some time to come. A worldwide pandemic ushered in new ways of living and working as we all worked together to ensure the safety of participants and staff. The need to adhere to social distancing and other public health guidelines meant that Wellspring had to adapt many of our activities in order to operate our centres and deliver services safely.
We developed new practices that were in fact so successful and well received that many will continue beyond the end of the pandemic. For instance, we now facilitate three interactive virtual music concerts each week with three different nationally acclaimed musicians which all participants (even individuals attending other service providers) and their friends are welcome to attend for free. Having seen the joy that regular live music – especially in a format which allows participants to chat live with performers and other listeners – brings to so many, we intend to continue providing this for the foreseeable future.
2021 continues to bring challenges, but also a sense of hope that through enhanced sanitation, hygiene and safety protocols as well as a vaccination push we will continue to reduce rates of infection and begin a transition back to a more recognizable state of affairs for all.
CLBC has assembled an excellent resource page containing links and information on how to stay safe and prepared during the pandemic as well as up-to-date information on vaccines, news, current guidelines from the Public Health Officer, and more.
